Eran, India's historical place..

Eran (एरण) It is a famous city of Gupta period, situated near the Vindhyachal hill on the banks of Betwa river in Madhya Pradesh.  There are many opinions about its naming.  The first is that it is found in abundance in grass called Eran, so its name was eran.  Some scholars believe that there lived a snake named eraka, so its name eran. Role in History:- The first mention of Sati practice comes from the Eran inscription. The Eran inscription is related to Bhanugupta .  General Cunningham  (The father and historian of the British Archaeological Department of India) first identified this ancient city of Erikin with Eran. According to Eran inscription, the first archival evidence of SATI is found in the Gupta period. Narsingh temple, Varaha temple and Vishnu temple have been found in Eran.  All these are now in collapsed state. 

Avanti, a historical empire of India

                          Avanti Empire This ancient city of India is known as Avantika in the Puranas (Total numbers of puranas are 18). It was one of the sixteen Mahajanapadas. Location:- Now it is the area of Malva (Madhya Pradesh). Avanti was divided by Vindhyachal mountain or Betwa river in two parts - (1) Northern Avanti with its capital Ujjayini and (2) Southern Avanti, whose capital was Mahishmati. Let's know about Mahishmati:- The Mahishmati has been taken in Bahubali film.  It is a small historical town near Indore in Madhya Pradesh.  Presently known as Maheshwar.  The historical Holkar dynasty fort built here makes this city even more beautiful.  The history of this city located near Narmada will be seen from behind; somewhere, the history of Bahubali film comes from the capital. Arikamedu, A historical place

                         Arikamedu   Arikamedu was a famous and ancient harbor located on the Coromandal coast, 3 km from Pondicherry. Arikamedu is called Pedoc in Periplus of the Erythraean Sea.  Trade:- Arikamedu was a prosperous trading port city on the eastern seaboard, having close trade relations with China, Malaya and Rome with perfumes, spices and silk  From Rome, large quantities of gold came to India in exchange for these items. Historical Points:- Many Roman remains of pottery have been found from Arikamedu in 200 AD.  Many Roman items have been found in the relics from Arikamedu, including two-handled urns of wine, Roman lamps & glasses

Ahichhatra

  Let's know about  A hichhatra....                         Ahichhatra Location :- It is located in Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh). It was the capital of Northern Panchal (one the 16 mahajanapadas during Buddhism) in the sixth century BC.   Naming:-      Ahi means snake (Naga in Sanskrit). Nagas were a group of ancient people who worshiped serpents. The word khsetra means region in Sanskrit. This implies that Ahi-kshetra was a region of Nagas. Role in History:- All we know and watch in Mahabharat that Ahichchhatra was formerly under the Panchala king Drupada (Draupadi's father). After many years Dronacharya defeated Drupada with help of his disciple Arjuna.  Ashwatthama (Drona's son) probably ruled the kingdom being subordinate to the rulers of Hastinapura. World’s biggest Darwaza

  Buland Darwaza is the highest gateway in the world and was made in memory of Gujrat victory so it is called also Victory Gate Fatehapur Sikari:- Fatehpur Sikri is the chaityagriha established by Akbar in 1569-84 in Agra (Uttar Pradesh). It is situated about 23 km away from Bhubaneswar (the capital of Odisha) & Rajsthan border. Fatehpur Sikri was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1986. •Important things:- By the bless of Chishti Salim (Jahangir) was born in Sikri so Akbar decided that the site of Sikri was auspicious and made it his capital. •The Other Monuments:- All the notable buildings built here - Jama Masjid, Salim Raja - Rani Kam Chisti's Tomb, Buland Darwaza (the victory gate), Diwan-e-Khas, Jodha Bai's Palace, Birbal's Palace, Ibadat Khana (worship house) etc. are made of red stone.   KASHI (VARANASI) Kashi (BANARAS OR VARANASI) is one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world. Great American Author “Mark Twain”           “Benares is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend, and looks twice as old as all of them put together.” GREAT PERSONALITIES Buddha  is believed to have founded Buddhism here around 528 BCE when he gave his first sermon, " The Setting in Motion of the Wheel of Dharma ", at nearby  Sarnath .  Tulsidas  wrote his epic poem on  Rama 's life called  Ram Charit Manas  in Varanasi.
