Unknown facts of our Constitution, important for competition
The Constitution was Legally Enforced on 26 January, 1950. It is kept in the main chamber hall in Supreme Court, New Delhi. Here are some unknown facts:-
1. Prem Narayan Rayjada was calligrapher who wrote the Constitution.
2. Great Painter, Nandlal Bose and Manihar Sinha painted on every page of the Constitution as - Ashok Lott, Ram Lakshmana Sita, Shri Krishna, Guru Gobind Singh, Buddha, Kamal, Ganga, Laxmibai, Tipu Sultan, Akbar, Harappan Carpets, Nataraja Aakriti, Havan Rishi, etc. at Kala Bhawan, Shanti Niketan.
3. There are 22 pictures which are on 22 parts of the Constitution.
4. The Constitution was first published in Dehradun. Our Constitution was written in both English and Hindi but its English version is valid.
5. After studying the Constitution of 10 countries, our original Constitution contains 22 parts, 8 schedules and 395 articles. But there are 22 parts, 12 schedules and 465 articles at present.
6. The first amendment to the Constitution was in 1951 by which the 9th Schedule was added.
7. The Constitution took 2 years 11 months 18 days to form & 63 Lakhs, 96 thousand & 729 rupees were spent.
8. The Supreme Court is the main guardian & protector of the Constitution.
9. The symbol of constitutional assembly was the Elephant.
10. It is the longest handwritten (No typed or printed) constitution of any country on earth.
11. On 26 November 1949, the final draft of the Constitution was ready.
12. On 24 January 1950, 284 members of the Constituent Assembly signed the Indian Constitution at the Constitution Hall, now known as the Central Hall of Parliament, in New Delhi.
13. The Preamble to our Constitution was inspired by the Preamble to the Constitution of the United States of America, which also starts with "We the people".
14. B.R Ambedkar, also known as “Father of Indian Constitution” bcz he was the chairman of draft committee.
15. The best constitution in the world.
